Pub Crawl in Prague

Pub Crawl in Prague – Everything You Need to Know Before You Go

If you're coming to Prague for a stag weekend, hen do, birthday party, or even a team building trip and you want to actually experience the city's nightlife rather than just scratch the surface of it, a pub crawl is the right call. Prague has one of the best bar scenes in Europe — cheap drinks, great atmosphere, and enough variety that no two nights ever look the same. A guided pub crawl is the easiest way to get properly into it.

Pub Crawl Options in Prague

Pub crawl in Prague is about more than bar hopping. It's about feeling like a local, drinking like a local, and having someone in your corner who knows exactly where to take you.Not all pub crawls are the same, and it's worth knowing the difference before you book.

Public Pub Crawl

A public crawl brings multiple groups together for the night. You lose the ability to customise the route, but you gain something else — energy, numbers, and the kind of spontaneous atmosphere that's hard to manufacture. For smaller groups it's often the better option. There are usually plenty of hen groups on public crawls too, which tends to work out well for everyone involved.

Private Pub Crawl

A private crawl is built entirely around your group. The day before, your guide gets in touch to find out what kind of bars you're after — Irish pubs, sports bars, disco bars, beer gardens, shisha lounges, upmarket cocktail spots — and puts together a route based on that. Table reservations are sorted in advance, welcome shots are included at every stop, and the whole evening runs on your schedule rather than someone else's.

Private pub crawls also come in several variations depending on what the group wants:

Pub Crawl with Unlimited Beer — all the Czech beer you can drink throughout the evening, included in the price. Simple, popular, and exactly what it sounds like.

Bar Crawl with Unlimited Drinks — a step up from the beer package. Spirits, cocktails, wine and soft drinks all covered, so nobody has to think about the bill at any point during the night.

Pub Crawl All Inclusive — the full package. Unlimited drinks, a sit-down dinner, and a strip show included. Everything sorted in one booking, nothing left to figure out on the night.

The most popular add-on across all variations is VIP entry to Duplex — ranked among the world's top 100 clubs — or VIP entry to Karlovy Lázně, one of the biggest clubs in Central Europe. Both clubs have queues that regularly run 30 to 60 minutes. VIP entry means you walk straight past them.

What's the Point of a Pub Crawl in Prague?

More than most people expect, honestly.

Yes, a guide takes you to the bars. But that's the smallest part of what you're actually getting. Agencies have deals with venues that walk-ins simply can't access — drink vouchers at strip clubs, reserved tables at bars that would otherwise turn away a group of fifteen, preferred entry at clubs with strict door policies. That alone tends to make the whole thing cheaper than going it alone.

Beyond that, a guide keeps the group together. If someone feels rough, they'll sort a taxi. If someone wanders off, they'll find them. If the group wants to change plans halfway through the night, they'll adapt. Booking a pub crawl isn't just buying a map of bars — it's having someone genuinely looking out for the group from start to finish.

How a Prague Pub Crawl Actually Works

One day before the crawl, your guide contacts the group to finalise plans and understand exactly what the group is looking for — budget, bar style, any specific requests.

On the night, the guide meets everyone at the most convenient spot — outside your accommodation, at a restaurant where you're having dinner, or at a central meeting point that works for the group.

From 18:00 to 22:00: the guide takes the group through two to four bars and pubs, with a welcome shot included at each stop. All venues are within walking distance of each other in the city centre — no taxis needed between bars.

At 22:00: due to local regulations, guides finish the bar section of the evening at this point. If the group wants to continue to a disco club or strip club, the guide meets everyone again at 23:00 outside the agreed venue and makes sure the rest of the night is sorted before handing over.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Can we start earlier or later than 18:00?

Yes. The crawl runs for five hours from whatever start time works for the group. Starting earlier is no problem at all. Starting later is fine too — the guide will still finish the bar section at 22:00 and can meet the group again at 23:00 for the club portion.

  • What should we wear?

Whatever you like for the bar section — the venues we use don't have strict dress codes. If the package includes Duplex, that's a different story. Duplex has a strict door policy: no sportswear, no novelty outfits, smart casual as a minimum. The club takes its door policy seriously.

  • How many guides will we have?

One guide for groups up to 14 or 15 people. Two guides for larger groups. Three or more for groups of 25 and above.

  • Can we pay by card in the bars?

Yes, all venues accept card and euro. That said, keep a small amount of cash handy for taxis, late-night snacks, or anything that might come up unexpectedly.

  • Do we need transport between bars?

No. The entire route is within walking distance in the city centre. The guide plans the crawl so everything flows naturally from one stop to the next.

  • Can we add a strip show to the pub crawl?

Yes. We can arrange a strip show at a venue in the city centre as part of the evening. Just mention it when booking or ask your guide in advance.

  • What if we're hungry?

Most of the bars and pubs on the route serve food — traditional Czech dishes, burgers, ribs, steaks. Let your guide know in advance and they'll include a dinner stop at one of the better options along the way.

Yes, at any point during the evening. Just let your guide know and they'll arrange VIP entry. The entry fee is paid directly to the guide in cash on the night.
